Fortuna vs Velasquez: HIGHLIGHTS: Sept. 29, 2015 — PBC on FS1

Javier Fortuna proved just why he stands as the undefeated, Super Featherweight World Champion as he plowed through Carlos Velasquez in their headlining efforts for PBC on Fox Sports 1’s Toe-To-Toe Tuesdays on September 29, 2015.

After ten rounds of heart and aggression, Fortuna brought Velasquez to a brutal halt by way of TKO 35 seconds into the tenth round.

Although Velasquez fought beyond his natural strength, it was no match for the fiery sting of Fortuna.

  9. Fortuna is a champion? He's wide open! I'd love to see him try these tactics against Uchiyama: a fighter who can really punch.

  14. Rodriguez gave him lots of trouble. If he gets wreckless like this against a big puncher it could be lights out. I know he wants to be entertaining but he's got to be patient. That being said, im pretty sure he's been around good trainers and will buckle down should he step up in competition. Him vs uchiyama, from what ive seen, toss up.

  15. Fortuna was getting better but the weirdest thing was that as Fortuna started to get better he stopped getting knockouts. I guess he since he started to get bad press for lack of performance against a few recent fighters he has gone back to that wild fighting style that he had when he was knocking guys out. But damn I worry for him because one short strong hook from an opponent and he will go down

  37. Fortuna gets way to wild, he's going to get knocked out sooner than later. Wheb he meets a good fighter with good power, unless he tightens up he will be on his butt.

  39. Fortuna's punches are kind of wide for my taste. Someone with good timing and reflexes can catch him coming in. Until then, very fun to watch.

  44. Uchiyama will put him on his back, i guarantee you.
Also a old Salido with his dirty inside fighting style would beat him too, Fortuna with his wide hooks would be hit so many times to the body and to the head that will finish to quit.
He has to be more accurate and close if he doesn't want to get counter badly by a good fighter, he is too open to get hit by straight lines.
